The Chapmans’ existing partially finished basement had several undesirable features like metal windows, an acoustic dropped ceiling, obtrusive ductwork and a weird closet around the electric panel. We transformed it into the warm, cozy and multifunctional space they needed by upgrading the aforementioned and adding built-in storage and 3/4-height partition walls that create comfortable zones for play, guests and entertainment without chopping up the flow of natural light. Recycled wood trim, a custom barn door, and wool carpeting help create a natural vibe that is welcoming to the whole family.
Opening and brightening up a dated kitchen as well as transforming a cellar-like basement into a family room with extra bathroom has helped this family grow into their home. Now they have enough zones for all their needs...relaxing, playing, and entertaining.
Master "Sweet" Addition
A mere bedroom became a master suite with the addition of 10 linear feet to one wing of this ranch house, purchased by a recently retired couple ready to relax in style. Highlights include spacious closets, a double vanity and a river rock shower with bench.
This family of four nearly doubled the livable square footage of their 1920s bungalow by fully finishing their basement into a family room, guest bathroom, laundry room and home office. Well-designed lighting and thoughtful built-in cabinetry make this space feel light, bright and as "un-basementy" as possible.
A complete remodel and dormer addition to our 1926 home. This is our first remodeling project together, a labor of love, and a work in progress! Even though the projects here are endless, we can truly say that we love where we live.
The original kitchen in this 1950s house was too cramped and separate from the dining and living rooms for the client, who both loves to cook and to be around family. We removed the dividing wall to open up the whole front room, creating distinct living, dining and cooking areas with a nice flow and connection between them. The client couldn't be happier with her "simple yet sophisticated" new kitchen and has reported a spike in culinary inspiration since the remodel!
